They are much better than you might imagine, even the lowest cost is very accurate. I have a Navman 530 and I am very happy with it. For the reception in Europe depends on where you think I've only in France, Italy and Germany was not a problem. However, if you plan to travel extensively in Ireland, to a satellite navigation system that Navteq maps (Garmin uses) to acquire. Garmin and Tom Tom maps are TeleAtlas and use of waste in Ireland today.
